A Radical Thread

This documentary is set against the dramatic scars of 19th century hydraulic gold mining and told through Marsha Stone’s 17-year collaborative project stitching an 83-foot tapestry visualizing the Ridge’s story in twelve narrative embroidered panels.

Our work on this project focused on the scenes depicted in the tapestries. We recreated the embroidery process, brought to life details in the finished scenes and created a custom hand-stitched font for the credits.
